Grand River Transit connects the three cities of Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge. By the end of 2014, our ridership reached more than 21.6 million and we travelled nearly 12 million kilometres.
Customers riding with us pay as they board. Entry is by cash, ticket, pass or transfer. Exact fare is required on the buses.
GRT has more than 250 buses, 12 of those buses are Hybrid Electric buses. We also have an additional 30 MobilityPLUS vehicles in our fleet.
We have roughly 59 regular routes that service Waterloo Region. Some of our busiest routes include, route 7, 8, 12 and the iXpress routes. Route schedules
Grand River Transit has more than 500 employees working in various areas to keep the service running each day.
We have 2514 bus stops. 571 stops are equipped with shelters.
