Township Services
MobilityPLUS offers service to eligible mobility-impaired residents in all four townships.
MobilityPLUS-North Dumfries provides specialized pre-booked service to people needing transportation in the North Dumfries and Cambridge area. It takes them to and from medical appointments, therapy, post-secondary education, employment, shopping and social activities.
Residents of Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich townships are served by Kiwanis Transit, which is contracted by Grand River Transit.
MobilityPLUS-North Dumfries
This specialized service was developed specifically for the residents of North Dumfries Township. Transportation is provided to the North Dumfries and Cambridge service areas.
You may be eligible for MobilityPLUS-North Dumfries if you meet at least one of the following criteria:
- 65 years of age or older
- Registered with CNIB
- Physically challenged
- Mentally challenged
- Temporarily disabled for example, a broken hip or visually impaired as defined by CNIB)

Fares
As of January 1, 2013 pay one fare per person when you board.

*Please note that should you require a GRT photo ID card for any of the monthly pass options or to use Reduced tickets, you may obtain one at the Charles Street or Ainslie Street Transit Terminals.
Booking rides
To book a ride you need this information:
- Your name and I.D. number
- Date you require transportation
- Your exact pick-up address
- Your exact drop-off address
- Time you wish to be picked up
- Time you would like to return
- If you will travel with an attendant or companion
- What mobility device (if any) will be used
Subscription bookings
A subscription booking is a permanently scheduled ride in which the day, time, pick-up and drop-off locations remain the same. This is available for post-secondary education, employment and medical appointments.
Booking procedures
Recreational and personal trips may be pre-booked with a minimum of two weekdays notice and a maximum of seven days notice. Trips for Monday must be booked by Thursday.
Medical, educational and employment trips may be booked with a minimum of two weekdays notice and up to 28 days notice.
Note on timing: Please be ready 15 minutes before your pick-up time and be prepared to wait 15 minutes past your pick-up time. This flexibility allows us to accommodate as many customers as possible.

Saturday/Sunday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Transportation will be provided between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm Monday to Friday and Saturday between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm
Attention: When calling to book or cancel a ride, please say you are a MobilityPLUS-North Dumfries customer.
Same-day cancellations
To cancel a ride that has already been booked for the current day, call 519-744-8570.
No Shows
A "no show" occurs when a customer is not at the pick-up location at the scheduled time. The return trip will be automatically cancelled.
Kiwanis Transit : Residents of Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich townships
Kiwanis transit offers specialized transit service for Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich Townships within the Waterloo Region.
The eligibility requirements for this service are:
- 65 years of age or older (proof of age required)
- A CNIB registrant (proof of registration required)
- Physically challenged
- Developmentally disabled
- Have a temporary disability that affects mobility
Transportation is provided for:
- medical appointments
- employment
- shopping
- visiting
- social activities
- school
- therapy
- meetings, etc.
