Fare Change

A Grand River Transit fare increase is effective Friday, July 1, 2011.

There will be an increase to ticket and pass prices. There is no change to cash fares, MobilityPLUS fares, photo ID or day passes. This fare increase will assist in funding the ongoing service improvement programs.

For your convenience, you will not have to exchange tickets you have already purchased and will not have to add money to the farebox when using tickets you already have.

Choose the payment method that best suits your needs. You can pay with cash, tickets, transfer or a pass.

If you pay with a ticket;

  • Place your ticket in the farebox when you board the bus and have a seat.

If you pay with a transfer;

  • Check the expiration time at the top of your transfer, you may board until that time.
  • Give your transfer to the operator and have a seat.

If you pay with a pass;GRT monthly tickets

  • Show your pass to the operator and have a seat.  Do not place your pass in the farebox.  Your pass is valid for the month shown on the front of the pass.
