Connect to GO for 50¢:

GO Train riders can board a GRT bus for only 50¢ with valid proof of a GO transit train fare or PRESTO Card (effective Monday, January 21st, 2013) to travel to and from the Kitchener Train Station.

Along with your 50¢ fare, you will need to show a valid GO Transit ticket or Presto Card to your GRT bus operator when you board the bus. 

Remember to ask the bus operator for a transfer, if you need to board the BusPLUS shuttle after travelling on GRT.

Here are a few more things to keep in mind:

  • Valid GO Transit train fares are:  Adult single ride ticket and day pass.  Senior or Child single ride ticket and day pass. Student single ride ticket and day pass.

  • GO Transit group passes and employee passes cannot be used with the Connect to GO 50¢ fare.

  • Effective Monday, January 21st, 2013, the Presto Card can be used with the Connect to GO 50¢ fare.

GRT Shuttle service to the Kitchener Train Station

For your convenience, a GRT shuttle service (using a busPLUS vehicle) connecting the Charles Street Terminal and the Kitchener Train Station with a stop at the Transit Hub at Victoria and King Streets,  is also available for GO Riders.

For your convenience, the shuttle schedule is coordinated with the 7:07 a.m.  GO Transit train departure, the GO Transit bus trip that departs in the morning at 8:00 a.m., and GO Transit train arrivals in the evening.

The 50¢ fare also lets GO Transit train riders ride GRT's BusPLUS shuttle service to the train station.  Along with your 50¢ fare, you will need to show a valid GO Transit ticket or Presto Card to your shuttle vehicle operator when boarding.

Via riders are also eligible to ride the GRT BusPLUS shuttle for the full GRT fare.  ($3.00 cash or valid GRT ticket or pass)

Parking at the King Street and Victoria Street Transit Hub

Free parking is available for GO Transit riders at 50 and 60 Victoria St. N. (End of the Roll, Noble Trade and Rumpel Felt). Please do not park at 510 King St. W. (corner of King and Victoria Streets). This lot is no longer available to GO commuters.

Beginning Sept. 4, 2012, you must use the Pay and Display machines to park at 50 and 60 Victoria St. N.

If you are using GO Transit, please use the machines to get your FREE parking receipt before 7:10 a.m. (instructions are on the machines).

After 7:10 a.m., there is a $2 per hour parking fee ($12 daily maximum) to use these lots.

PLEASE NOTE: The Pay and Display machines only accept cash and do not provide change.

Accessibility

Registered MobilityPLUS customers are able to Connect to GO for 50¢.  When booking your trip to the Kitchener Train Station, please advise the reservationist that you are a GO Transit rider. 

Along with your 50¢ fare, you will need to show a valid GO Transit ticket, day pass or PRESTO Card to your GRT MobilityPLUS operator when you board the vehicle.

During morning rush hour?

The first weekday eastbound train from Kitchener GO Station will now start at 5:49 a.m., serve the Guelph Central GO Station at 6:13 a.m., then stop at Acton, Georgetown and all other stations along the route. Times between Georgetown and Union Station remain the same with arrival at Union Station at 7:53 a.m.

The second weekday eastbound train trip departs Kitchener GO Station at 7:07 a.m., serve Guelph Central GO Station at 7:31 a.m., then stop at Acton, Georgetown and all other stations along the route with arrival at Union Station at 9:08 a.m.

During afternoon rush hour?

The existing weekday westbound 4:45 p.m. train from Union will now serve Georgetown at 5:49 p.m., Acton at 6:03 p.m., Guelph Central at 6:18 p.m. and Kitchener at 6:45 p.m. The existing weekday westbound 5:45 p.m. train from Union will now serve Georgetown at 6:49 p.m., Acton at 7:03 p.m., Guelph Central at 7:21 p.m. and Kitchener at 7:45 p.m.
