Lost and found items can be found at either the Charles Street Terminal ticket booth on the second floor, or at the Ainslie Street Terminal ticket booth. Items may be picked up daily during business hours.
Important lost items
If you have lost a wallet, medical prescription, laptop, bike, government or legal documentation, GRT customer service staff will help you find your belongings quickly. Call our customer service line at 519-585-7555; TTY 575-4608.
For all other lost items, such as cell phones, all bus passes, text books, hats, gloves and umbrellas, please go to the appropriate terminal to inquire. GRT is unable to stop the bus to locate these items.
Items left on a bus in Kitchener or Waterloo will be taken to Charles Street Terminal in Kitchener. Items left on a bus in Cambridge will be taken to Ainslie Street Terminal. Please go to the ticket booth at the terminal to inquire about your lost item.
If you lose an item on a bus that travels between KW and Cambridge, your item cmay be in the lost and found at either location.
Claim lost items quickly
Our terminals have limited space to store lost items.
- Lost bikes will be held for four weeks, and then donated.
- Items such as mittens, hats, umbrellas and books are kept for two weeks, and then donated to a local charity.
- Government or legal documentation will be held for four weeks, and then mailed to the appropriate government office or legal department.
ID is required
Be prepared to show identification when picking up a lost item. You must be able to describe a lost item in detail. Items must be claimed by the owner. Lost items will not be given to third parties.
