Move to rear of bus
To ensure that the bus operator has clear sight lines, and out of consideration to those boarding, customers must move to the rear of the bus. The bus will not be operated if standees are ahead of the white/yellow line.

Exiting the bus - rear exit doors
We ask that you exit the bus by the rear doors whenever possible. This helps fellow passengers board and exit the bus easily and helps keep bus operators on schedule. GRT buses have four different types of rear doors. Click here for instructions on how to use each type of door safely and easily!

Bikes on buses
The exterior bike racks must be used when available. If the rack on your bus is full, you may bring your bike on board the bus. You must move to the area opposite the rear door designated by a sign. If the seats in that area are occupied, courtesy dictates that you will be allowed to be seated. You will not be permitted on board a bus when all seats are full and standee conditions exist. In the case where you are on board with a bicycle and standee conditions develop, you will be allowed to remain on the bus until you reach your destination. No "feets" on seats
For a pleasant and clean environment for all riders, we ask that you do not place your feet on the bus seats.

Strollers
Strollers are not required to be folded up prior to boarding a GRT bus unless there are crush load conditions or standees on board the bus. Customers are required to move to the rear as far as possible, lock the wheels of the stroller and remain in firm control of it at all times. Under crush load or standee conditions, the child must be removed from the stroller and it must be folded down prior to boarding.

Animals
Larger dogs or other animals that could pose a threat to GRT customers are not allowed on any bus. The only exceptions are guide dogs for the visually impaired or hearing impaired and/or small animals that are kept inside a proper cage or enclosure.

Playing of radios
The loud playing of radios and other items that could prove to be a distraction to the bus operator or an annoyance to other customers is strictly prohibited.

Athletic Equipment
Wearing inline skates, roller blades, ice skates, or skateboard use is not allowed on any GRT bus. Skie, ski poles and snowboards are not allowed on any GRT bus unless properly enclosed. Customers must wear shirts and shoes on any GRT bus.

Proper attire
Out of consideration for other customers, shirts and shoes must be worn on board all GRT buses.

Courtesy and Respect
Customers engaging in behaviour that is rowdy or disruptive to the bus operator or other customers may be asked to leave the vehicle. Any persons found to be willfully damaging or vandalizing GRT property could be subject to full prosecution.

Smoking & Alcoholic/Hazardous Substances
Smoking and the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in all GRT buses, terminals, and bus shelters.
