Rail Safety Week: Safe right turns

A new video is a reminder to everyone to stay safe around trains during Rail Safety Week, Sept. 19-25.

The video highlights several narrow escapes of vehicles turning right in front of ION light rail trains and ends with the message, “A right turn is the wrong turn when a train is coming.”

“There are some really close calls in this video and unfortunately, we have had drivers turn right into our ION trains,” said Neil Malcolm, Acting Director of Transit Services. “With this campaign, we’re hoping to remind the community to be careful, stay alert and follow signs and signals when travelling near trains and tracks.”
