On Friday, Dec. 20, Regional council approved the 2025 Region of Waterloo budget.
Transit service reductions, expansion and fare changes
- 15,000 service hours will be added for improvements to the core network in response to growth and ridership
- 3,500 MobilityPLUS service hours will be added to address customer demand
- Seasonal summer service reductions will begin one week earlier in June
- Starting July 1, 2025:
- Children six and under ride for no charge (maximum three children with a fare paying customer)
- GRT EasyGO fare cards are reduced to $4
- The Affordable Transit Program monthly pass remains at $48
