Grand River Transit (GRT) in partnership with Conestoga College is committed to providing students with a new and improved transit station on campus. Original construction, slated to begin this fall, has been delayed as we work with residents in the area to address their concerns and finalize the design.

More and more Conestoga College students are using public transit. Nearly 4,000 riders head to the college on a typical weekday.

This fall, more frequent service, a new route and more hours of service has resulted in more buses on campus. This has meant that Door 3 cannot accommodate our needs.

In an effort to assist us and provide more space for this expanded service, the college has agreed to undertake the construction of additional bus bays at Door 3 until the new station can be built. The work on Door 3 is expected to begin this fall and take approximately one month to complete.

As an interim solution, GRT, with the full support of the college, has created a temporary station in Lot 10 until construction at Door 3 can be completed.

We realize this temporary solution is not ideal and continue to work towards the creation of a permanent station in Lot 6. This location was chosen for a number of reasons including it’s proximity to future planned expansions of the college. The station will feature heated shelters, benches, Wi-Fi and covered bike shelters. Once finalized, a date for construction to commence will be announced.
