Testing is now progressing to all areas of the ION route.
While the trains are in their testing phase, they will not run on a schedule and will be moving slowly at times. As testing progresses, the speed of the vehicles will increase until they begin to test at operational speeds.
Testing of the system and the vehicles will continue until service starts.
In the early stages of testing, you may see flaggers or paid duty officers assisting crews at certain intersections. During testing, there may occasionally be unexpected signal changes and unusual signal sequencing at intersections. The flaggers and officers will help ensure motorists, pedestrians and cyclists are crossing the light rail tracks safely.
ION trains are powered by electricity carried through overhead power wires. It is important to keep away from these wires and treat them as you would any other live wire.
