  • MobilityPLUS-North Dumfries provides specialized pre-booked service to residents of North Dumfries needing transportation to the North Dumfries and Cambridge areas. 
  • Kiwanis Transit serves residents of Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich townships. This service is contract by Grand River Transit. 

MobilityPLUS-North Dumfries

This specialized service was developed specifically for the residents of North Dumfries Township, for travel to and from medical appointments, post-secondary education, employment, therapy, shopping and social activities. Transportation is provided to the North Dumfries and Cambridge service areas.

Travel Times

MobilityPLUS North Dumfries customers may travel on the pre-booked service within these times:

Monday to Friday 6 am - 6 pm
Saturday 7 am - 5 pm
Sunday/Statutory Holidays  - no service on these days

To book a ride, please adhere to these guidelines:

  • Recreational/Personal trips must be booked at least one business day ahead of the trip, and no more than seven days ahead.
  • Medical, post-secondary education and employment-related trips must be booked at least one day ahead, and can be booked up to 7 days in advance.

Subscription bookings

A subscription booking is a permanently scheduled ride for the same day and time, and the same pick-up and drop-off location. Such rides are available to take you to and from work, post-secondary education or repeated medical appointments.

All subscription bookings which fall on statutory holidays will be automatically cancelled.

Booking rides

To book rides, please have the following information available:

  • Your name and MobilityPLUS I.D. number
  • The date you require transportation
  • Your exact pick-up address
  • Your exact drop-off address
  • The time you wish to be picked up and the time you want to arrive at your destination
  • The time you want to return
  • Whether you will be accompanied by a support person or guest
  • What mobility device (if any) will be used.

Note: Please be ready at the accessible door of your location at the beginning of your 30 minute pick-up window. Also, be prepared to wait 15 minutes past your pick-up time. This flexibility allows us to accommodate as many riders as possible.

No Shows

A No Show occurs when a customer is not at the pickup location at the beginning of the 30-minute pickup window. If the pick-up is a No Show, the return trip will be automatically cancelled. Excessive frequency of No Shows may result in a suspension of service. Please refer to the No Show Policy.

Cancelling Same-Day Rides

To cancel a trip booked for the current day, or if a ride has not arrived within your pickup window, please call us as soon as possible.

If a trip is cancelled by a customer within the 30-minute pickup window it will be considered a No Show.

Note: On statutory holidays, all subscription bookings will be automatically cancelled except for trips for renal dialysis.

Kiwanis Transit

Kiwanis Transit offers specialized transit service to Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich townships for those wishing to travel to a medical appointment, place of employment, shopping, social activity, school, therapy, or event.

To apply for Kiwanis Transit, please print and fill out the Application Form and Mobility Assessment Form and fax them to 519-669-3124. You may also call the phone number below and request the forms be mailed to you.
