Connect-to-GO rebate expands to include GO bus transfers

Waterloo Region – GRT’s Connect-to-GO program will now cover free transfers to GO buses, not just GO trains, starting April 1. Expansion of the program improves connectivity and access beyond Waterloo Region for GRT customers.

New Connect-to-Go validators will be available at busy GO bus connection points in each of the three cities – Sportsworld, Pinebush and University of Waterloo stations. The existing validator at the Kitchener Train Station can now be used for connections to GO buses, as well as trains.

“Thanks to our strong partnership with Metrolinx, we are making transit trips easier and more affordable,” said Karen Redman, Chair of the Region of Waterloo. “Better connections help more people choose transit, lower emissions and tackle climate change while keeping our community moving within Waterloo Region and beyond.”

GRT customers must enrol in the program first, and then tap the Connect-to-GO validator with their EasyGO fare card to get a rebate on the GRT fare. For enrolment steps and information visit grt.ca/GO.

The Connect-to-GO program is a partnership between the Region of Waterloo and Metrolinx making transit more affordable and creating seamless connections for a single fare throughout the Greater Toronto Hamilton area.
