Navigating these website features just got easier

We have launched a new and improved GRT website to help customers find information they need faster and more easily.  Updates include a redesigned Alerts and Detours section, an improved real-time map and a dedicated MobilityPLUS section, making it easier to plan trips and access important transit information.

Alerts and detours

The updated Alerts and Detours section was designed with riders in mind, making it simpler to search, filter and stay informed about stop closures and route changes.

Find the latest service alerts and detours on the home page of the Grand River Transit website and view the complete list on the Alerts and Detours page. Select an alert to read more details about the routes, stops and service impacts affecting your trip.

The new section allows customers to:

  • Search for detours by specific streets

  • View detours by route number

  • Filter results to only show service alerts

  • See multiple routes impacted by a single detour

Real-time map

The updated real-time map is now easier to use and mobile-friendly, making it simple to check the location of buses and ION trains using real-time departure information.

To use the real-time map:

  • Select Filter Routes in the top right corner to display all routes or choose a specific route

  • Click on a vehicle icon to view its next three scheduled stops

  • After selecting a route, click on a stop to see the next three departures from that location

  • Use the location icon in the top left corner to zoom to your current location (location services must be enabled on your device)

  • If a vehicle icon is grey, real-time information is unavailable and the map is displaying scheduled departure times

The MobilityPLUS section allows customers to access information about:

  • Accessibility on buses and trains

  • MobilityPLUS eligibility and requirements
