Starting Sept. 4, 2023, we are improving transit service in Cambridge for east Galt, north Galt, and Preston areas. The service expansion will add 18,000 service hours annually.

Public consultations were conducted in February and March 2022. Staff updated plans based on the feedback received, and those updated plans were presented to the public in spring 2022.
How is the Cambridge network changing?
- More direct travel options to major destinations including: Ainslie Terminal, South Cambridge Shopping Centre, Cambridge Centre Station, King/Bishop area and Franklin/Saginaw area.
- Expanded service to southeast Galt
- More service on evenings and weekends.
- Travel distances to some bus stops may be further in order to provide more direct service overall.

Staff will be on hand to discuss the changes and help with travel planning at the following dates and times.
Ainslie Street Terminal
- Tuesday, Aug. 15, 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 23: 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Cambridge Centre Station
- Thursday, Aug. 17: 7:30-9:30 a.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 19: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

East Galt changes |
Benefits:
- More service weekday evenings and on weekends
- Frequent service from Champlain Boulevard to Ainslie Terminal, and the south Cambridge shopping area
- Direct connection from Myers Road to Ainslie Terminal, the south Cambridge shopping area and Cambridge Centre Station
- New Sunday service to Alison area
- Supports future service to Southpoint subdivision and the city’s planned recreation complex
What’s changing:
- Route 50 - extended to Ainslie Terminal along Lisbon Pines Drive, Myers Road, and Water Street.
- Route 53 - extended to Champlain Boulevard and Christopher Drive.
- Route 53A - serves Eastern Industrial Park during weekday peak and late evening periods.
- Route 58 - extended to Cambridge Centre Station along Elgin Street, Franklin Boulevard and Bishop Street.
- Replacing Routes 54 and 59 with Routes 50, 53, and 63.
- Service removed from Langlaw, Gatehouse and Elmwood areas. Customers would need to walk further to access nearby transit stops.
- Route 63 - Revised to travel along Main Street, South Cambridge Shopping Centre, Alison area, Elgin Street South, Champlain Boulevard, and Glenview area.

- New direct service from Samuelson Street and Elgin Street to:
- Cambridge Centre Station
- Franklin/Saginaw shopping area (No Frills)
- Di Pietro Centre shopping area
What’s changing:
- Route 58 - extended to Cambridge Centre Station along Elgin Street, Franklin Boulevard and Bishop Street.
- Route 60 - one-way travel along Cowan Boulevard, Burnett Avenue and Green Vista Drive.
- Route 65 - two-way travel along Saginaw Parkway and Townline Road; one-way travel along Coulthard Boulevard, Can-Amera Parkway, and Arthur Fach Drive. A new stop will be added in front of the Cambridge Gurdwara temple.
- Replacing Route 75 with Route 60 along Burnett Avenue, and Route 65 along Saginaw Parkway.
- Service removed from Munch Avenue, Glamis Road, and Avenue Road. Customers in these areas would walk further to other area stops along Elgin Street and Hespeler Road.

What’s changing:
- Route 50 – Revised to travel on Dunbar Road.
- Route 56 - two-way travel along Langs Drive, Concession Road, Eagle Street, Laurel Street, to King/Westminster, and one-way loop around King Street, Rose Street, and Argyle Street.
- Combining Route 64 with Route 56 into one route.
