TravelWise Bike Contest
TravelWise is encouraging TravelWise Members to celebrate Bike Month in June. Join us as we celebrate biking for work, school, or play - every day.
Staff at participating TravelWise Member Organizations can enter into a contest for a chance to win one of three prizes.
This Contest is being held by The Regional Municipality of Waterloo (the "Region"), owner and operator of TravelWise ("TravelWise”).

Contest Rules
This contest is open to anyone aged eighteen years or older and residing in Ontario, Canada. The Contest commences on June 1, 2026 and closes at 11:59 pm. (E.T.) on June 27, 2026. Entries for the last week of the contest can be submitted until 11:59pm on June 30, 2026
Entry:
- Check your inbox every Friday in June for the TravelWise newsletter
- Go to the form shared in the email and log your sustainable trips from that week AND/OR to enter the 'Guess the Picture' part of the contest by identifying the mystery sustainability-themed image
- Submit your entry! There is a maximum of one “commute” entry and one “picture” entry per person per week for a maximum of eight entries.
The Contest commences June 1, 2026 and closes at 11:59 pm. (E.T.) on June 27, 2026. Entries for the last week of the contest can be submitted until 11:59pm on June 30, 2026. No purchase, expenditure or investment is necessary to enter the Contest. Maximum of two (2) Contest Entries per person, per week (one entry per week for sustainable commuting, and one entry per week for the photo guessing contest), to a maximum of 8 contest entries per person.
Eligibility:
Entrants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and be a resident of Ontario, Canada. The TravelWise program administrators and their immediate families are not eligible for the Contest prize.
Entrants must be employed by a TravelWise Member Organization at the time of the prize draw.
Only the following trip types are eligible:
- Bike
- Electric Bike (e-bike)
- Electric Scooter (e-scooter)
- Carpool
- Transit
- Vanpool
- Walk
Prize Information:
There will be three prizes available to be won by eligible entrants. Each prize will be drawn in the sequence below. The prizes to be drawn for are:
- Prize 1: One custom branded commuter bike ($799.00 retail value)
- Prize 2: One custom branded commuter bike ($799.00 retail value)
- Prize 3: One custom branded commuter bike ($799.00 retail value)
The prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-redeemable for any cash value. The Region is not responsible for replacing the prize if it is lost, stolen, destroyed or used without your knowledge or consent.
Winner Selection:
- A random draw for each prize will be conducted by one or more TravelWise program administrator(s).
- Each prize will be drawn for in order from all entries received by the closing date of the Contest set out in this Contest’s Rules and Regulations, excluding any entries from an entrant who has already won a prize.
- A TravelWise Program Administrator will contact the workplace for each selected entrant to confirm their employment – staff not actively employed by a TravelWise Member Organization at the time of contest closing are ineligible to win a prize.
The selected entrant will be notified by 4:30 p.m. (ET) on July 10, 2026 by the contact information provided when submitting the contest entry form, and again within 14 days of the draw.
The selected entrant must correctly answer a skill testing question posed by the TravelWise program administrator(s) before being declared the winner.
In the event that the selected entrant incorrectly answers the skill testing question above, or cannot be contacted using the contact information, another entrant will be randomly selected for the applicable prize.
The Region's rulings on the winner are final and without appeal in all matters related to this Contest and the awarding of the prize.
In the event the selected entrant does not comply with these contest rules and regulations, or does not respond within fourteen (14) days of the draw, or declines the prize, an alternate entrant will be selected from the remaining entries.
Chances of winning are dependent upon the total of eligible entries received. The Region is unaware of how many entries there may be.
The selected entrant must make alternative arrangements with the TravelWise administrators to collect their prize.
Additional Rules and Regulations:
- Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant will be required to sign a waiver and release releasing and holding the Region harmless in relation to the Contest and consenting to the use of his/her name, city of residence and/or photograph in any publicity carried out by the Region, including, without limitation, Social Media without further compensation as a condition to and in advance of receiving the prize, or the prize will be forfeited.
- The Region takes no responsibility for lost, misdirected, late, incomplete, illegible or destroyed entries or for failure of the website during the Contest period, for any problems or technical malfunction or any telephone network lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an applicant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from using or downloading any material in this Contest. The Region reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the email portion of this Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Region corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any Web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Region reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
- This Contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws.
- Each entrant agrees to abide by all Contest rules and will be deemed to have reviewed and understood the rules if they participate in this Contest.
- The Region is not responsible for printing, distribution, or production errors and may terminate or withdraw this Contest at any time without prior notice.
