GRT updates
Members of CUPE Local 1883, which includes Region of Waterloo and GRT full-time office, clerical and technical employees, will be in a legal strike position starting Saturday, Sept. 26.
In the event of a labour disruption, GRT buses, ION trains and MobilityPLUS buses will continue to operate.
The following services would be impacted.
GRT customer service
GRT customer service locations
GRT customer service locations would operate with reduced hours. Wait times could be longer than usual. Hours of operation would be subject to change.
Customer service response times
Response times could be slower for customers calling customer service or reporting issues using the GRT Customer Feedback Form.
Affordable Transit Program
Processing of Affordable Transit Program applications and renewals may be delayed.
Eligible ATP customers would still be able to purchase fare products at a GRT customer service location, at a fare vending machine or online.
If you've recently been approved but have not purchased your first ATP EasyGO fare card, you would need to visit a GRT customer service location with your identification.
MobilityPLUS
MobilityPLUS applications would be reviewed, and customers would receive updates by mail. Response times could be slower for customers calling about MobilityPLUS fare product purchases, eligibility, and account maintenance.
Travel Training
Travel Training would not be available. New requests for travel training would be scheduled following the labour disruption, and existing appointments would be rescheduled.
