Grand River Transit Customer Survey Giveaway Rules and Regulations

This contest is being held by The Regional Municipality of Waterloo (the “Region”), owner and operator of Grand River Transit (“GRT”). Any questions with respect to this Contest should be directed to the Manager, Marketing and Communications and Customer Service, by email at grtmarketing@regionofwaterloo.ca

This Contest is open to anyone who fills out GRT's Customer Satisfaction Survey.  This Contest closes at 11:59 p.m. (ET) on May 28, 2025.

Entry

  1. To enter the Contest:
    • Complete the GRT Customer Satisfaction Survey
    • Fill out the name and email fields
  2. All entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. (ET) on May 28, 2025.
  3. No purchase, expenditure or investment is necessary to enter this Contest.
  4. Grand River Transit staff are not eligible for Prizes in the Contest.
  5. One entry per person; duplicate entries will be discarded.

Eligibility

Participation in this Contest is open to customers of Grand River Transit.

Prize Information

The prize is one of five $100 gift cards, or 1 of 10 $20 gift cards. The retail value of the prize is $100 CDN or $20. The prize must be accepted as awarded and is non-refundable, non-transferable, may not be exchanged or substituted, and is non-redeemable for any cash value. The Region is not responsible for replacing the prize if it is lost, stolen, or destroyed.

Winner Selection

  1. A random draw, by a representative of the Region, from all completed and correct entries received will take place within two business days of the contest closing date at Grand River Transit, 250 Strasburg Road, Kitchener, Ontario N2R 3M6. Fifteen winners will be chosen from entries received before the contest closing date. The selected winners will be notified by 4:30 p.m. (ET) on the day of the draw. The winners will be notified via email.
  2. The Region’s rulings on the winner are final and without appeal in all matters related to this Contest and the awarding of the GRT prize.
  3. The selected entrants must correctly answer a skill-testing question before being declared the winner.
  4. If the selected entrant cannot be reached within 5 business days, incorrectly answers the skill-testing question or declines the prize, another entrant will be selected.
  5. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The Region is unaware of how many entries there may be.
  6. Prizes must be picked up from one of GRT's customer service locations. 

Additional Rules and Regulations

  1. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant will be required to sign a waiver and release releasing and holding the Region and Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter harmless in relation to the Contest and consenting to the use of his/her contest entry, name, city of residence and/or photography (collectively the ‘Submission’) in any publicity carried out by the Region, including, without limitation, Social Media without further compensation as a condition to and in advance of receiving the prize, or the prize will be forfeited, and shall waive any moral rights in relation to Submission.
  2. The Region takes no responsibility for lost, misdirected, late, incomplete, illegible, destroyed or deleted entries or for website failures during the Contest period, for any problems or technical malfunction or any telephone network lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s  or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from using or downloading any material in this Contest. Any attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Region reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
  3. This Contest is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws.
  4. This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with, Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram.
  5. Each entrant agrees to abide by all Contest rules and will be deemed to have reviewed and understood the rules if they participate in this Contest. 
  6. The Region is not responsible for printing, distribution, or production errors and may terminate or withdraw this Contest at any time without prior notice.
