U-Pass

The U-Pass is a low-cost transit pass that gives unlimited rides on transit to full-time students at Conestoga College, University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. The cost of the U-Pass is included in your student fees, and the pass is automatically added to your student card.

The U-Pass is valid for each school term: September to December; January to April; May to August.

Students at other colleges in Waterloo Region may be eligible for the College pass.

Did you just get a new student card? It may take up to two business days for your U-Pass to work on all GRT buses and trains.

Conestoga College

GRT has an agreement with Conestoga Students Inc. that means all full-time students (including co-op students) enrolled in campuses in Waterloo Region have access to the U-Pass program. The U-Pass is loaded on your ONE card each semester.

Lost or damaged ONE Cards

If your ONE Card with a U-Pass is lost, stolen, damaged or defective, contact the ONE Card Office.

University of Waterloo

GRT has agreements with the University of Waterloo Undergraduate and Graduate Students Associations that mean all full-time students enrolled in campuses in Waterloo Region have access to the U-Pass program. The U-Pass is loaded on your WatCard each semester.

Lost U-Passes

If you lose your WatCard with a U-Pass, go to the WatCard office to replace your student card.

Wilfrid Laurier University

GRT has an agreement with the Laurier Students' Union and Graduate Students' Association that means all full-time students at campuses in Waterloo Region have access to the U-Pass program. The U-Pass is loaded on your One card each semester.

Lost U-Passes

If you lose your OneCard with a U-Pass, go to the OneCard office to replace your student card.

Part-time students, faculty and staff

Faculty and staff are eligible for GRT's Corporate Pass program.
Part-time students may be eligible to opt in to the U-Pass program. Students can contact their student association to confirm eligibility.
If they are not eligible to opt in, part-time students can purchase an EasyGO fare card and load monthly passes or stored value.

MobilityPLUS and U-Passes

Full-time students who use GRT's MobilityPLUS service can pay to ride MobilityPLUS using their U-Pass.

We ask students to provide proof that they are enrolled in a full-time program, for example a tuition receipt. They will then be mailed a paper pass each month.
